What started as a three-month trip to Japan after university turned into an 11-year adventure—and a lifelong fascination with languages, cultures, and real human communication.
Over the last 24+ years, I’ve lived and worked abroad for more than half my life: 11 years in Japan, 9 in Spain, and 4 in Germany.
Along the way, I’ve run communication workshops for global teams at companies like Toyota, Porsche, Sony, Canon, and Coca-Cola. I know firsthand what it’s like to live, work, and lead in a second language—and I know exactly where communication tends to break down.
It doesn't happen in a classroom or a textbook.
It happens in the tiny, everyday moments.
A conversation suddenly feels a little easier.
A word appears a little faster.
Something on a call or podcast makes total sense.
You catch yourself speaking naturally without translating in your head first.
And suddenly it hits you:
Learning a language isn’t about reaching a finish line or obsessing over the concept of perfection.
The journey is the destination.
